HP Spectre x360 - 15t Touch Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I've had this laptop since last year and it is awesome...  I've only charged using the OEM charger that came with it.  However, I'm interested in being able to charge it from a USB C PD 3.0 powerbank when I'm away from an AC outlet

Is this possible?  If so, what would I need to purchase?

Thanks!

Firstly what is your HP Spectre x360 - 15t Touch Laptop ? Most likely it is a CTO (Configure/Custom To Order) machine. Did you see option for USB-C charger when ordering the machine ?

Please use the following way to find out the model/product of your machine

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).

Hi Banhien,

Thanks for the quick response. The System Model is "HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15t-df100"

Although I didn't see an option for USB-C charger when I ordered the laptop, some people on other threads said that they were able to get USB-C charging to work.

The laptop has the normal "hole" charging port on the back of the left side of the laptop and USB-C ports on the right rear. (Please see pictures)

The reason I'm asking is that I'm interested in buying a USB C PD 3.0 PowerBank to extend the battery life on my laptop.

Thanks!

Wow, I don't know why HP doesn't advertise this. I can charge my laptop perfectly using either of the USB C ports (back right + back right 45 degree bevel port) from the 100 watt USB PD 3.0 charger:

I suggest that HP update their product page and spec sheets to let everyone know that this laptop has this feature.  I also have a 100 watt PD 3.0 powerbank (Flash 2.0 from Chargeasap) so I have greatly extended power wherever I go.

Great design hp

Manual

Machine supports USB-C charge using compatible USB-C chargers as mentioned on pages 4,5 and 6 of the manual. Depending on the configuration of your machine (remember it is a CTO machine) it can have  90W or 135W charger.

You are saying you can use 100W to charge your machine that may imply your current PSU only has 90W. That is ok otherwise it is a little bit short, machine would not be able to charge battery at the same time when machine is heavily loaded.
