I noticed that there is a thunderbolt symbol next to the USB C connector on this laptop.  My understanding is that means it is a thunderbolt port.  I cannot verify this in product documentation though.  All documentation I can find from HP and 3rd party's state that this is only a USB C port. I don't have Thunderbolt peripherals to test this with, but if it is indeed a thunderbolt 3 port, I would likely by some to use with it.  Any idea how I could verify this?

Hello Checryan,

So does it look like this below?

Left one is Thunderbolt 3Left one is Thunderbolt 3

In your computer's Maintenance and Service Guide, it lists that it's simply a USB-C port with HP Sleep and Charge. The HP Sleep and Charge icon looks kinda like the Thunderbolt 3 icon but is not.

It is the HP sleep and charge icon that I was getting confused with the Thunderbolt 3 icon.  Thanks for the helpful response.
