HP ENVY Laptop - 13-ba0558na

Hello, I have an HP Envy, model 13-ba0558na which has been dropped.

Is the digitiser itself replaceable, or do I need to get a whole new top / lid with screen ?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

By "digitiser" do you mean the display?

The digitiser is the touchscreen on top of the screen itself that makes the laptop a "Touchscreen"

The screen itself looks absolutely fine, but there is damage to the digitiser, so that is what and why I am asking if the digitiser is replaceable.

Of course, but replacing it comes with great risk and difficulty.

That is why virtually everyone replaces the complete display, instead of its parts.

Well, to be honest, I haven't seen the extent of the damage to the body, only photographs, but it does look like the top needs replacing in any case, I just really need a starting point in what to look for !!! Thanks for your input 👍

Do you happen to know where I might be able to source the whole top (in the UK) ?

Here is the description and part number for the complete display assembly. See chapter 3 page 18

Replacing the touchscreen assembly is not that difficult if you have the confidence and patience. You will need an inexpensive PC toolkit (Amazon.co.uk) and the double-sided tape for the display bezel. You can order the tape at the same time as the display at some vendors.

Use HP L96782-001 as the keywords in a search engine of your preference to find one in the UK or Europe.
