This seems to me a simple question of the variety: Can I use keyboard A into notebook B?
Therefor: Is the HP DM4 Pavillion (BACKLIT) keyboard compatible with a Hp DV2 Pavillion?
I have a HP dv2 Pavillion notebook.
And when I replace the DV2 keyboard with a backlit DM4 keyboard, will the lights go on, will they work? Or does the DM4 motherboard have extra sockets for that?
Thus, will the keyboard work:
- Fully, with the lights
- Half, without the lights
- Not at all?

Simple answer is no but to be 100% sure we need to full model number of the donor and recipient laptops. The keyboard from one laptop will not work in another laptop unless by some twist of fate they happen to use the same part number keyboard. The dv2 manual I found does not indicate that a backlit keyboard was offered which will mean the motherboard has no header for any kind of backlight cable.
