Pavilion laptop 13-an0XXX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Thursday morning everyone

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion 13 laptop.

I love it.

And everything is working perfectly.

What I'm trying to learn is if the SSD installed in my pavilion can be swapped out for a larger size in the future if the need should ever arise.

99.9 % of the thing I use the laptop for are Internet based.

I can't envision ever needing more memory or a larger disk drive.

But, just in case, I thought I would ask the question. "If I wanted, could I swap out the current SSD for a larger one ? ".

I purchased the Pavilion at Walmart.

I asked the same question of the person on duty at the store but they didn't know the answer.

Nice lady, just didn't know the answer.

So, help from this forum would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the specs:

Model:  HP Pavilion Laptop 13-an0xxx

System ID:  84C5

Product ID:  5FS56UA#ABA

Memory size:  8192 MB RAM

Disk Model:  SAMSUNG MZNLN128HAHQ-000H1

Disk Capacity:  119.24 GB

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi:

Yes it is upgradable to a larger storage capacity and not only that, you can replace the 128 GB SATA M.2 drive with a much faster NVMe SSD.

So, if you end up needing more storage space, get a NVMe drive with more storage capacity than your current 128 GB SATA drive.

Below is the link to the service manual.   The supported drive types can be found in chapter 1.

The capacities listed are just what HP offered in the model series.

If you wanted to install a 1 TB SSD, that would be fine.
