I have an HP 15g-dr1000tx laptop. I discovered that the position of the vents is just below the display facing the hinges.
So my question is that is it harmful for the display when the vents release heat. And when I play games using the dedicated Nvidia card it becomes quite hot.

Hi,
As @CherylG states, there should be no problem.
My loan from HP has the vents in the same position. I have had no problems with the heat on the screen and have used it some for gaming. Well, jumping around and getting killed 🙂
Regards,
David

I test a different model loaner laptop every year as part of the Expert Program. 2 years ago I used an Envy that had the vents positioned like that. I was a little concerned at first but during that year of use no adverse effects developed. Of course I rarely use my laptops for gaming since I don't think most have enough cooling efficiency to handle the extra heat well and prefer to use my desktop pc for what little gaming I do. The Omen laptops are built more for gaming but I see a few complaints of heat even on them.
