I am planning to buy this notebook in USA and take it to India. In India the power supply is 220-240V AC. So is the power adapter suitable for this voltage too? If it is, then I can just plug in using a plug adapter. If not, do I have to purchase a voltage converter? It'd be really helpful if you upload a picture of the those details on the adapter.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You only need plug adapter as the power supply accepts from 100 - 240V. This is the same for most ac adapters for notebooks.

Hope it helps,

David

I have found that when I plug my laptop into the 220V plugs, here in the UK, that there is a slight voltage on the case of the laptop. If I touch soft skin (like that under my arm, near the elbow), on the edge of the laptop, then I can feel that there is an uncomfortable tingle due to this voltage. It's not a saftey concern but definitley isn't pleasant. I don't believe this has been reported before with this device. This doesn't occurs when plugged into a 110V plug BUT the device is rated for these domestic voltages.

Hi,

Are you using a different power cord (which goes to ac adapter) or are you using an adapter for the plug?

Hi David,

I'm using the supplied HP ac adapter but plug the US plug into a UK plug adaptor. There is obviously no earth connection on the adaptor's US plug though.

Hi Rainer,

What kind of ac adapter is it, Is there a cords going from the wall socket to the ac adapter. something like in the link below?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Laptop-Chargers-Adapters-Length/dp/B07GVRRPPX/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF...

If this is the case I would try replacing only the cable. You can probably get one at local electronics store for a couple of £.

The actual ac adapter is international, so I guess it could be the cable, or we are facing some other problem.

Thanks David,

Unfortunately it's the TPN-LA03 (which I can't imidiately find on the HP website), which has the plug pins that fold out of the adapter itself. May have to get a new adapter.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Regards,

Rainer
