This comes with a pre-installed SSD and I cannot find any reference to this model which tells me anything about drive upgrades/additions.
My current HP had a facility to add an second HDd, but it had an HDD lready installed. not an SSD

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The model series came configured with a single M.2 NVMe SSD or a 2.5" hard drive + NVMe SSD configuration.
You should be able to add a 2.5" drive, but you probably will need to find and buy the parts required to install the drive that are found in chapter 3 of the manual.
NOTE: The hard drive cable is available as spare part number M75893-001.
I don't see any 2.5" drive mounting bracket parts listed.
You may want to open up the notebook and have a look around before buying anything.
If it was my notebook and needed more storage space, I'd be replacing the 256 GB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.

HP does not have a service manual for the 17-cn2xxx model series.
The manual on the support page is for the older 17-c0xxx model series.

My assumption would be that the parts would be the same, and that is assuming that you can still add a 2.5" drive in the newer model series.
HP is moving away from offering 2.5" hard drives in the newer model notebooks.
