HP Pavilion (2021) 14-dv0054TU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bought a HP Pavilion (2021) 14-dv0054TU Laptop in November 2021. Was expecting an additional SSD slot for expansion. However now on going thru various reviews on Amazon website about this Product, most buyers are informing, no additional slot for adding storage space is provided in this laptop. I chatted with HP customer care, who confirmed otherwise, that one additional slot for SSD is provided and I can add upto 1TB additional SSD in addition to 500GB already inbuilt.

Want to confirm from the community, if anyone has increased the storage space on this model with an additional SSD. Further whether SATA based SSD would be required for upgradation or 1TB M.2 SSD • PCIe NVMe Gen 4 can be used.

Hi:

According to the service manual, your notebook only has one M.2 slot for a SSD and no option to add a 2.5" drive.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

You can see the illustration in the service manual, chapter 5, page 32 where the single M.2 SSD is located to the left of the battery.

If 512 GB is not enough storage, you can always replace the drive with one having a larger storage capacity.

The M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3.  A Gen 4 SSD will work, but only at the reduced Gen 3 speed.

See the Intel specs for your notebook's processor/chipset below...

Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7 Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.20 GHz)

Microprocessor PCIe Revision Gen 4
Chipset / PCH PCIe Revision    Gen 3
