HP Pavilion - 15-ck003nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if Is It possible to install another SSD on "HP Pavilion - 15-ck003nl", so in total there would be two Solid Disks (hdd + ssd).

If yes, which tecnology of SSD is it accepted? Does the "M.2, NVMe" work?

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes, I see what you mean. However these are the videos remove/replace provided by HP for your model as you can see here. Most likely the built is the same as the cc series:

Hi,

It should be possible to install an M2 SSD in the notebook. I say should, because sometimes HP notebooks which did not come with an M2 drive are missing the physical socket on the motherboard. So, before buying drive I would check if the socket is present.

On page 39 of service manual you can see the steps to get to the drive:

You can also look at these HP videos for that model (click on solid state drive in list on left)

If the socket is present you can use either a M2 SATA3 drive or much faster M2 PCIe NVMe drive.

Hope it helps,

David

Hello,

I thank you for the fast answer, It was very appreciated. Also I have further questions, because I saw on page 39, there is a step-by-step guide for the removal of SSD from the socket, and also a detailed list of supported hardwares.

However, on the second link you provided me, I can see that those videos are made for "15-cc0xx and 15-cc5xx" models and mine is "15-ck003nl", so I would be sure about it, that the other SSD slot is actually avaible.

Hi,

The xx in the 15-cc0xx can be any number. It represents the whole series which yours is a part of. It is always better to check before buying the drive, as it is only a few screws.

Hello again David,

I know but what I want to say is that mine starts with "15-ck" but in the video starts with "15-cc".

Hi,

Thank you very much for helping me, so can I install an M.2 NVMe? Because as I can see from the photos and videos, there is installed an M.2 2280. I am sorry for this amount of questions but I'd like to be sure on what I am going to buy 🙂

Regards,

Antonio.

Hi Antonio.

You need to make sure that the socket is present on your motherboard by opening the PC. If you see the saocket, then you can install a M2 NVMe drive.

Hello David,

So can't I know it before buying the PC?
