@Yashwanth_11, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Keyboard Issue: Keys Not Working!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your keyboard is working partially, where some keys are responsive and others are not, you can troubleshoot this issue by following these steps:

Inspect for Debris:

  • Inspect the keyboard for any signs of dust, liquid, or debris trapped under sticky keys that might prevent keystroke recognition.
  • A key only works when pressed with force. Inspect and remove debris trapped under the keycap.

Check Keyboard Connection:

  • Verify if there's an incomplete connection between the keyboard and the system board. Ensure the caps lock or num lock light turns on when the key is pressed.
  • Verify that keyboard flex cables are fully inserted and in good condition. Look for signs of delamination, torn cable ends, missing or cracked tracks, and verify that connector tabs are properly closed.

Device Manager and Driver Check:

  • Verify whether the keyboard is recognized in Windows Device Manager and check if the keyboard driver is installed properly.

External Keyboard Test:

  • Test with a working external keyboard (e.g., USB keyboard). This helps isolate hardware issues from potential software issues.
  • Also, test special keys in Windows like Caps Lock, Shift, Ctrl, Fn, Windows, and Alt.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) to isolate a hardware issue from a software issue.

BIOS Update:

  • Verify that the BIOS is up to date. If so, resetting BIOS to default settings may help resolve the issue.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

The issue still persists after diagnosing with all the proposed solutions mentioned by you but none resolved the issue. I guess it's all about hardware issue and need to change the keyboard
