Hello HP customer support,
Hope you are doing good.
I am facing an issue in my HP Laptop (PAVILION X360 u105tu).
The problem is with keyboard, touchpad and screen auto rotation.
One of these will not work when I start my Windows 10 (pre-installed).
I also tried booting with Ubuntu - still the issue exists.
I also tried testing hardware components in HP PC diogonostics mode(F2).
but all tests were success.
But all these are working fine when I browse through BIOS and PC diagonostics.
I went to an authorized service center (Valanjambalam- Cochin- 682016- Kerala,India)
but they couldn't rectify.
This is the laptop i bought for my work.
So my work is blocked due to this.
Could you please take necessary action immediately.
.
Note:
Warranty will only expire on November 14, 2017.

Hi @vishnupv2017,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see from the post that you are having issues with the keyboard and touchpad only works in Bios not in Windows. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you with this,
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Did this happen after the recent upgrade to Windows 10 or software Windows update?
Have you tried to update the drivers?
When was the last time it worked?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.
I recommend you to uninstall any generic synaptic drivers showing up for the touchpad (if available) under hidden devices from the device manager:
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
At a command prompt, type the following command , and then press ENTER:
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
Type the following command a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
start devmgmt.msc
Troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager.
NOTE: Click Show hidden devices on the View menu in Device Manager before you can see devices that are not connected to the computer. When you finish troubleshooting, close Device Manager.
Type exit at the command prompt.
Note that when you close the command prompt window, Window clears the devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 variable that you set in step 2 and prevents ghosted devices from being displayed when you click Show hidden devices.
And then download a new version of the synaptic drivers using this link: Click here
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios and Chipset drivers for your PC from our HP Support website, using this link.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Hello @vishnupv2017,
I thank you for your quick response and understand the situation well.
To perform a power reset on a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery, use the following steps:
-
Turn off the computer.
-
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
-
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
-
For most laptops, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.
-
Plug the AC adapter back into the laptop computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
-
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
-
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
-
After Windows opens, reconnect each peripheral device that was disconnected, one device at a time, until all devices are reconnected.
-
Your laptop has been reset. After a power reset, it is a good idea to run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all device drivers. See Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 😎 and Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) for more information.
Please let me know how this goes.
I genuinely hope that the issue gets resolved without hassles.
For further assistance let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help.
If you wish to say thanks for my effort to help, click the "Thumbs up" to give me a "Kudos" and also, please mark it as “Accepted Solution” if this helps.

Hi vishnupv2017,
I've seen this caused by a broken earth between the keyboard panel and mainboard.
The earth is connected by the screw at the centre top of the board.
If you miss the small indented screw cover on the base and try to force the top panel off it can break the earth tab.
You can bend the surrounding part of the earth down about 4mm to make contact or buy another top panel.
A missing screw or improperly seated top panel may also cause this.
