Hi @Sounak2006,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your laptop keyboard keys, including the function keys, are not working properly. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the Function (Fn) key behavior
Try pressing Fn + Esc once to toggle the function key mode.
This switches between media keys and standard F1–F12 behavior.

Test the keyboard in BIOS
Restart the laptop and repeatedly tap Esc, then press F10 to enter BIOS.
If keys don’t work here, it usually indicates a hardware-related issue.

Restart the laptop and disconnect external devices
Power off the system and unplug chargers, USB devices, or external keyboards.
This helps rule out temporary conflicts or input interference.

Check for stuck or unresponsive keys
Look for keys that feel loose, stuck, or unresponsive when pressed.
Dust or debris under the keys can cause multiple keys to malfunction.

Update or reinstall the keyboard driver
Open Device Manager and expand Keyboards.
Uninstall the keyboard driver and restart the laptop so it reinstalls automatically.

Check for liquid exposure or corrosion
If the laptop had any liquid exposure in the past, it can affect multiple keys over time.
Corrosion on the keyboard connector can cause random or partial key failures.

Run the built-in keyboard test
Restart the system and press Esc, then choose F2 for diagnostics (if available).
This helps confirm whether the issue is hardware-related.

I hope this helps.
