Pavilion 14-ce0029nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone! I have a problem with my keyboard. I split some water on it and, of course, it doesn't work anymore. Do you know how much would it costs to change the keyboard? The pad still works and it seems that replacement part (just keyboard and not the entire case) do not exist for this type of pavilion.

Thank you so much.

Hi,

Yes, that should work. It is a third party supplier that gives only the keyboard. You will need to remove all that is in the way in the notebook, system board, battery... and then remove the "grill" that holds the keyboard in place. You will most likely need to break the plastic rivets to remove the old keyboard. Once you have placed the new one, you can use some glue to keep the grill in place. With patience, it can be done and you save quite some money.

Let me know if you need further help,

David

Hi,

Have you let the notebook completely dry for about 24 hours and see if the keyboard works?

You are correct, the keyboard comes as one part with top cover. You need to remove all the parts from the old top cover and place them in the new top cover. You can follow the service manual:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06248869

The part number for your keyboard/top cover is L19191-061

Hey, thank you so much! Yes, I did try to let the computer dry for 48 hours, actually. Do you know if this could work?
