Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 14-n012ax Notebook PC. I read that few keys do not work like the A, Z, Q and 1 and the caps lock key. Other keys seem to work fine. Also, I read that the laptop makes a buzzing noise when you press the A key.
The evidence indicates towards a hardware issue. To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did any hardware changes take place on the laptop?
You may run a keyboard hardware test by following the below steps:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select component tests.
- Please initiate a test on the Keyboard - Quick interactive functional test of the keys on the keyboard. Click Keyboard, then Run once.
The Keyboard Test time is 3 minutes.
If the keyboard test passes and you would like to reseat the keyboard then please refer to page no. 62 of the service guide.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know what happens. Cheers!
