HP 15-p007sr
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hello everyone! Keyboard on my laptop (15-p007sr) is misbehaving recently:  if you apply some pressure on the spot on the keyboard right above where a harness (or whatever this thing, that connects the keyboard with motherboard, is called) would be, keyboard starts acting as if CTRL is being hold. I managed to lift up the.. hm.. panel (I guess?), in which keyboard is embedded, and therefore straighten up the harness just a bit. As a result CTRL stops acting as if being hold. So I figured I need to replace the keyboard, but I cannot do that, since it's embedded into the panel itself. I can't replace the harness either, since, as far as I understand, it's inseparable from the keyboard. I realize I can buy an external USB-keyboard, but I'd rather not to do that.

So.. what am I to do?

English is not my first language, so I apologize, if something in description of a problem is not very clear.
Looking forward to your help! Cheers!

Yes you are correct. You buy keyboards based on the actual HP part number...a 15R will not fit for a 15P.

And here is your Manual. The link I gave above is not right:

Manual

This is the keyboard you want I think:

With full size textured island-style Keyboard and numeric keypad black for use in Rxxxa 762529-251

Just the keyboard on ALiExpress which I assume will ship to Germany:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Russian-Keyboard-for-HP-762529-031-762529-251-769012-251-769254-031-...

Post back if you want to proceed and we can work on videos for swapping out the keyboard.

Where do you live (country)? And what language is the keyboard? HP only sells the keyboard as part of the whole top cover. You can buy just the keyboard from aftermarket sources but removing the old one from the top cover is not easy.

Look at pages 22-23 in this Manual to see how many different parts there are:

Here is an example where you can buy just the keyboard:

Thank you for a quick response, Huffer! I live in Germany now, but I bought my laptop back in the country, name  of whicj is forbidden on this website, apparently, due to political reasons, so the keyboard is R-----n/English. Oh, and I think the manual-link you posted refers to a wrong page.
I would really love to buy a whole top cover, but googling "top cover HP 15-p007sr buy" doesn't end up showing anything relevant.
And how would I replace my embedded keyboard with a regular one? I would need to cut it out from the cover? And even if I managed to do that, how would I fix the new keyboard in place? Don't think it'll work.

Looking forward to your help once more!
Cheers!

The keyboard can be removed from the top cover. There are some odd connectors which have to be opened to pry the keyboard out but trust me it comes out. The parts sold on eBay are the keyboard that can be placed back into the top cover. So they are "embedded" keyboards just like the one you had. I am not aware of the name of the "Land of the Czars" being forbidden on this site but then again I have no need to type it. I am sure we can find you a keyboard that will work for you on German eBay and maybe a youtube video showing how to swap out keyboards.

Viel Glueck.

Oh! I think I see what you mean now! So I would need to remove the keyboard from the bottom of the cover, not from its top. Makes sense now. So I went ahead and searched a replacement keyboard on ebay.de and managed to find this:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Laptop-Tastatur-fur-HP-15-R034TX-15-R035DS-15-R035TU-QWERTY-US-English/25324...
It says that this keyboard is for "HP 15R" series (just a reminder: mine is 15-P007sr), but it looks identical to the one I have now. But I suppose identical appearance doesn't automatically make it compatible with my motherboard 🙂 Of course I could go with a German keyboard (I found a couple, that are made specifically for 15P series), but the problem is that it has a different layout and some of the keys have different shapes and size. This means some keys just wouldn't fit through the openings in my top cover.

So I'm kinda stuck again.
