I have the same issue with my Envy 360. It started about the same time as your issue. Our IT guy traced it to a file but he can't do anything with it. Everytime Windows 10 does an update the keyboard and pad stop working. He said it is clearly a HP problem with my model Envy. He sees this same problem with other customers. This was fairly long. If HP doesn't step to the plate to fix the problem we possibly have an option of pushing for a product recall.

Hi  Nanook159,

After much hassel and back and forth and hours on the phone with HP etc etc. I was finally contacted by the "Escalations Department" they sent me a box to put the computer in and shipped it to them free of charge. They had it for about a month tried a bunch of stuff and eventually ended up replacing some part in the keyboard [sorry I've forgotten what the actual diagnosis was] but at the end of the day the product was defective and they did fix it and my computer has been working fine now for about 3 months.

My computer works with the usb, like you . We did replace the keyboard. The problem definitely is tied to when Windows 10 updates. It is good to hear your problem is resolve but I really question if the keyboard replacement fixed the problem or this was the simple answer for resolving another issue.

I suffered through this same issue and after multiple reinstalls I found out what the issue was; it turns out that the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution was the culprit.   If you go into Device Manager>System Storage and disable Intel Integrated Sensor Solution it should fix the issue after a restart.

You are going on the same journey that I went on about six months ago. Our IT guy found the problem to be isolated to one model on Enveys and one file. Everytime there is an update the keyboard will lock up. All the tech support you are receiving is the same as for me. I provided them the specifics of the problem but they were not interested in getting the facts or investigating the issue. Unfortunately, you are SOL. Very disappointed with HP and will not purchase HP products again.

I own an 27" desktop touchscreen HP Envy. Mine is probably much older than yours (got mine in December 2016). I just have to chime in here and share my .02 on this product. This company really is doing a poor job at fixing their mistakes. I had the ghost tapping issue that resets itself everytime I updated the system. It took me nearly a month to figure out the solution. I battled over the phone with their employees (who don't give a rats ass about customer service btw), the robots, and forums. Forums seem to be the only place to get any sort of help, none of the reps wanted to share any helpful info w me. The bottom line is I've spent more time trying to fix this hunk of junk than actually get to use it. I'm now battling the keyboard issue like you are and to be quite honest, I'm done w them. I'll never buy HP anything.

Yes this works:

Disabling the Integrated Sensor Solution fixes the keyboard and touchpad.  (I researched the Integrated Sensor Solution = you can give without it: [edit]

"Another worthy addition is Intel's integrated sensor solution - a low-power hardware subsystem that allows the SoC to deliver contextual information to apps without the need for additional hardware."

However, my Touch SCREEN is still not touch sensitive.

This fixed it for me.  After having this issue for months, I can finally not have to use my external keybaord.  Please make sure to also update the BIOS for this to work.
