I do not understand why the power button is a keyboard key. That unit did cost a hell of a money, and then there is a power button instead of the INSERT key left to the DELETE button? Who had such an idea?.
1) In total darkness that is not to be found. All previous mobile workstations had a separate power button that was tactile to be found.
2) Shift/Ctrl-Insert with the insert key on the Function Key row does not work. Not when using Shift+Insert, Shift+Fn+Insert, Ctrl+Insert, Ctrl+Fn+Insert. All such key cominations are mapped to F10.
As a software developer that is a frequent key combination, instead of Ctrl+V/K for me. That stupid power button also changes the key layout from any other standard keyboard. All previous keyboards, e.g. on the EliteBook series where good and productive to use. This one is only at 90% and does not support key combinations any other keyboard has.
So I have to use the number block, but that removes the quick entry of numbers through the number block. That stupid power button screws up all the keyboard layout and productive use of the keyboard.
So how can I get the INSERT/F10 Key to work correctly with the Shift/Ctrl+Insert key combination?
Any comments or ideas to it?

Hi Michael,
You're absolutely right, this is a pain! I got my Z Book just yesterday, and was wondering about this issue too since I used Shift+Insert in the git bash.
First, I tried the following steps:
Press and (Shift/fn) + fn to make sure that the LED in the fn button lights up
Press and hold (Shift/fn) first, then press and hold (the already lit) fn button
Press F10/insert
This worked for me. I then realized, however, that hitting F10/insert without the fn key being lit does the same as Shift + Insert before. I'm a little bit confused now, but it can still do the trick.
Maybe it can help you!
Cheers
Johannes

Hello Johannes, and everybody that reads this thread:
Apparently HP was reading this, because a week ago Windows 11 presented an update to the keyboard driver.
With driver version 11.1.8.1 (on Windows 11) the keyboard driver apparently received a fix.
To correctly get Ctrl/Shift+Insert in the non-standard keyboard of the highest priced HP Notebook product:
As Johannes pointed out:
1) Activate Fn Lock: Press (Shift/Fn) + Fn (in that sequence) to make sure that the LED in the Fn button lights up. Fn is now locked.
With the driver in stated version on my unit this is the key sequence for Shift/Ctrl+Insert:
2) Use and hold: Shift + Fn + Insert (in that sequence) to get Shift+Insert.
3) Use and hold: Ctrl + Fn + Insert (in that sequence) to get Ctrl+Insert.
Thanks.
