Hi there,
Since a while I have problems with cursor-up and cursor-down keys on my Spectre laptop. It certainly is a hardware problem, I have already applied "Dust Off" and "Kontakt 60" spray, which helped for ~2 weeks. Does anyone know where to get a replacement keyboard?

Hi @Niklaus42,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for the detailed description, and I’m very sorry you’re dealing with a recurring hardware issue on your HP Spectre laptop. I completely understand how annoying it can be when keys (especially the arrow keys) fail intermittently.
About your keyboard issue
Since you’ve already tried cleaning with compressed air and contact cleaner, and the problem temporarily improved, this strongly suggests a hardware-related keyboard issue (not software or driver related). Internal key switches can wear or lose proper contact over time, especially in high-use areas like arrow keys.
About replacement keyboards
HP does not sell individual laptop keyboards directly to end users, and replacing a laptop keyboard is not typically a consumer-replaceable part due to the way it’s integrated into the top case assembly. That said, you can obtain an appropriate replacement through:
📍 HP Authorized Service Centers or Parts Providers
- These technicians can source the correct keyboard/top case assembly for your specific Spectre model
- They can confirm part compatibility
- They can professionally install the replacement
Since laptops vary by region and exact model, we recommend contacting an HP Authorized Service Center in your area so they can:
- Verify your exact laptop model (e.g., Spectre x360 13-xxx)
- Check whether that keyboard/top case assembly is available
- Provide a repair quote (parts + labor) and schedule
