My laptop's keyboard is not working and I was using external keyboard. And I accidentally found that laptop's keyboard starts working when the flight mode is on. I thought of changing the Wi-Fi card. Even after changing the Wi-Fi card, problem was not solved. The moment I insert the Wi-Fi card the keyboard stops working. Please note that only keyboard is not working but mouse pad is still working. What could be the problem?

@Saafism, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Device Manager for Conflicts
Boot with the external keyboard and Wi-Fi card installed.
Go to Device Manager.
Check for:
Yellow exclamation marks under Keyboards, Network adapters, or System devices.
See if the internal keyboard is recognized at all.
If not listed → it’s either disabled or not being detected due to a hardware issue.
Try a Different Wi-Fi Card (Different Model)
Try using a different model or brand of Wi-Fi card (ideally a known compatible one).
Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
Enter BIOS.
Look for:
Internal Device Configuration – ensure keyboard is enabled.
Resource configuration / IRQ settings (if available).
Try disabling Advanced Power Management or ACPI temporarily to see if it changes behavior.
Also:
Check BIOS version.
If outdated → update to latest version from the manufacturer’s site.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
