Does anyone know how to disable the Keyboard on a laptop?

I have an HP Notebook and the Keyboard types 888888 continuously- I used Device Manager to stop this by issuing the wrong driver and just used a USB Keyboard and Mouse  but the new Windows 10 update July 24 compromise it and installs the correct driver on every boot up an it started typing 88888888 again. I had to restore the old version of Windows 10 to fix the problem but now I can't receive any more updates. Also I took a utility knife and cut the number 8 out of the key pad and it still keeps typing 88888888888.

@Ratdog52, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Check if the number 8 key is pressed/stuck on the keyboard. You may disable the keyboard temporarily by uninstalling the keyboard drivers from the device manager.

However, once you restart the computer, the drivers will get reinstalled.

To permanently disable it:

  1. Go to start, and into the search box type ‘gpedit.msc’
  2. Disable laptop keyboard policy editor
  3. Click on the Computer Configuration file, and then head into Administrative Templates > System, Device Installation
  4. Then go into Device Installation Restrictions. You’ll see a number of options on the right. Right click on Prevent Installation of Devices not described by other policy settings and edit this option, setting it to enabled
  5. Laptop keyboard driver disable

Now, uninstall the driver for your keyboard from the device manager, and when you reboot your PC it will not automatically install it again, and the keyboard on your laptop will no longer function.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
