When our community flooded, I replaced my computer with this laptop. I primarily use it for both teaching at school and lesson preparation at home. The stiff hinges have now caused the top left surface to crack near the power button. Since the warranty is now passed, I tried to continue using it as is. However when I adjust the screen angle, many times the laptop will go into shutdown mode because the hinge has damaged this area by the switch. I’ve researched online that this is an unusually  common problem in this series of laptops. Is there anyone who can help me with this. I desperately need this laptop to work for my classes.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
