Hi all,
Just noticed that there two bulges on the top left of my OMEN 16 laptop above ESC key. Any other idea what that could be? I still have 1 month warranty left, but should I stop using it for now? I have also noticed that the fans are working harder and the laptop has gotten hotter/louder, especially during gaming.
Many thanks,
Derek

Hi:
From what you described it sounds like the notebook battery is beginning to swell due to expanding gases.
I recommend you contact HP as soon as possible in order to get the battery replaced while the notebook is still under warranty.
The battery will continue to swell to a point where it may cause further damage to the case.
See this link regarding battery swelling.

Hi Paul,
Thank you for the quick response. I had look at the support contact info, but I received the following message:
Sorry, we are unable to determine if there are any support agent options for your location at this time. You can use other resources below or please try again later.

You're very welcome, Derek.
Unfortunately, since I don't work for or represent HP, I would have no idea what you will have to do if you are getting a message like that.
Perhaps you can call an HP authorized service center near you and ask them how you can get in touch with HP to submit a support case under the warranty.

I don't understand why HP makes it so difficult to get help.

I would've thought battery, but the battery is more towards the lower part of the keyboard. I'd probably say that the hinge is breaking loose, or it's over-heating and the heat pipe is causing distortion. Do you seem to be getting a good outflow of air? Clogged heat vanes can overheat and cause that.or possibly a non-functional fan. The picture is the corresponding area with the upper right will be the upper left as you view the keyboard.
