For school I need it to last about 5 years and I will do Chemistry or Computer Science Articolation… what do you recommend? If not a Gaming Pc, i would consider a 2 in 1 with good Specs. My Budget is 700€, so Europeans, HELP ME!

Hi @eppsa,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 15s-du3564TU display (1366×768, 60 Hz) looks blurry and the UI seems stretched on Ubuntu. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm the display is set to its native resolution and refresh rate
– Open Settings → Displays and make sure the resolution is exactly 1366×768 and refresh rate is 60 Hz.
– If it’s set lower or to a non-native value, switch it to the native values.

Check the scale (and try fractional scaling)
– In Displays, set Scale to 100% first; if UI elements are too small, enable Fractional Scaling and try 125% or 110%.
– Fractional scaling can reduce blurriness compared with non-native or forced scaling.

Switch between Wayland and Xorg session
– At the login screen choose the gear icon and try logging with “Ubuntu (Wayland)” or “Ubuntu on Xorg”.
– One server may render fonts/crispness better for your GPU and will often resolve blurring.

Update system and graphics stack
– Run Ubuntu Software Updater (or Software & Updates) to install all updates; newer kernels/Mesa often improve display clarity.
– Reboot after updates to ensure driver improvements take effect.

Use “Additional Drivers” to install recommended GPU drivers
– Open Software & Updates → Additional Drivers and apply the recommended driver for your integrated GPU.
– If only open source drivers are available, make sure they’re the latest packages from the updater.

Adjust font rendering and hinting (GNOME Tweaks)
– Install and open GNOME Tweaks, then adjust Font Hinting and Scaling Factor to improve text sharpness.
– Try “Slight” or “Full” hinting and small changes to the scaling factor to see immediate improvement.

Check for browser/app specific scaling issues
– Browsers sometimes apply their own zoom or scaling; reset page zoom and try disabling browser fractional scaling.
– For Electron apps, check their display settings or use desktop scaling instead.

I hope this helps.
