Laptop HP Envy is bulging up at teh keyboard

The center of my laptop is bulging in the middle.  I have been told there is a battery recall however, received no notice..

We need the full model number but whether or not its a recall you have to get that battery out of there before it breaks something that can't be fixed. Li-ion batteries swell up sometimes, no way to avoid it.

The battery does not appear to be removable.  I see no way to remove it (like other laptops I have had).

Its removeable you just have to remove the back cover. The Manual shows exactly how to do it.

New battery just arrived from Amazon; followed instructions in manual; had to turn the battery connector over for the connection to fit around the battery;  laptop booted up > so far, so good.  (only down two days)

If you follow me at all here you know I am not a fan of Best Buy/Geek Squad. I am happy to enable people to do their own repairs. Be a "fixer" in other words so you are not dependent on corporate overlords (sorry HP)
