Laptop Power Throttling with correct Adapter

I bought a new power adapter recently, from a trusted repair company who ordered the exact same part as the old part directly from HP, yet when I connect the power cord I get a pop-up saying that the power is too low. It is definitely the correct power adapter, as I have compared it to my old one. This leads to throttling, slowing down the laptop to under a third of the performance it was running at before. This makes most of the games I play impossible to run, with framerates as low as 15. The only thing I think it might be is the port may have been damaged when my old AC adapter was. If so, is there a way I can disable power throttling? I don't really mind if it makes my battery discharge even whilst plugged in.

You have to ask them. No one can answer your question because you bought from a different source. Quick and easy: ask them to send you a different one.

I don't really want to do that, due to the fact that it might be the port that is damaged, and this power adapter took more than 2 weeks to arrive. I would be able to live with the lower power, if I could find a workaround to the power throttling of my CPU and GPU

Your machine needs a 135 W AC power adapter part # L15534-001. Please get the charger and turn it up-side-down to see what is its wattage.

Part # L15534-001 is new and you bought a REPAIRED adapter. Very hard for me to believe it is a genuine part.

The charger I have received is Part L15534-001, 135W AC Adapter. It came in the exact same packaging as my new AC Adapter did when I bought the laptop. It was a new AC Adapter. I bought it from a HP authorized
parts re-seller, who I was recommended to use by acquaintances who had used the store before. I do not believe the charger is the issue. I do not wish for a fix, as I believe that would mean I would have to get my charging port replaced, which could cost upwards of £100. All I want is a workaround which lets me use my laptop at full power, when it is on battery, or receiving a lower wattage from the possibly damaged charging port

I found the issue!

The problem was with the plug socket, rather than the AC adapter.
