HP Pavillion Power
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Issue:
The physical screen connection present in the hinge of my HP Laptop appears to have worn down to the point where it  frequently malfunctions. I am confident this is a hardware issue.

Characteristics:
During the malfunction the screen turns into a static image of vertical streaks, the colour and pattern of which being somewhat related to the last correctly displayed image.

The malfunction can be forced (as seen in the picture above) and sometimes temporarily fixed by providing pressure onto the screen without allowing the hinge to rotate. I believe this pressure slightly readjusts the internal mechanics resulting in a correction to the hinge-screen connection.

Desired solution:

Repairing / Replacing malfunctioning hardware.
I would really appreciate if you could help me find the part which is causing this so that I can figure out how to repair or replace it.
If you are familiar with this issue and have any more information that would of course also be appreciated.

Other information:
This image found online has a identical internal layout to mine. I have highlighted the cable which connects the motherboard to the hinge.

Note that while the laptop is being operated this hinge would be located on the right hand side for the user.
