HP Notebook - 15-ay513tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The first problem is, When I connect the charger to the laptop it sometimes doesn't charge and then it starts charging and vice versa , this thing happens for few minutes.

Second problem is, My laptop automatically shutdown with a click sound if not plugged in, if I keep the laptop plugged in then the laptop never shutdown automatically. And the laptop works for few minutes without charging and it shutdown.

This thing is happening after formating my laptop. In short, if I use my laptop without plugged in it works for few minutes and shutdown automatically with a click sound and I have to turn it on and had to plug in the charger then it works fine.

so, is it my adapter problem or my laptop battery problem.

Thank you.

@Rohannnnnnnn1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged correctly and the computer shuts down in a couple of minutes when using on battery.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the steps in the below article and run a test on the battery.

Thank You for your valuable reply.

As you mentioned to update the BIOS, I have updated it.

And to Run a test on the battery, it passed the test.

But still I am facing the same issue, the computer shuts down in a couple of minutes when using on battery.

@Rohannnnnnnn1,

It looks like an issue with the battery connector. I recommend you contact support and check the available service options for your computer.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
