Hi,
Thank you so much for your help thus far.
I ran an automated Diagnostics via HP Support Assistant and my battery was diagnosed as being "very weak" needing to be replaced.
I'm super relieved to have finally resolved this issue as I was really scared of going all amateur hacker on my laptop with all the commands so I don't format the memory or something. 😅
I guess my new challenge now will be finding a verified HP/partner store to purchase an original.
I live in Nigeria, West Africa.
Thanks a million especially for the morale boost of knowing someone who is an expert at this was looking over my shoulder.
It's every non-techie's worst nightmare to have to troubleshoot even the most basic tech bug. (I just threw in a bunch of tech words I've heard around. Apologies for any sacrileges.)
I hope you have a wonderful and productive day.
THANK YOU!!!

You're welcome
You can buy replacement batteries online ...
It is important to know how many volts (V) the battery has. There are different versions according to the service manual.
Shut down your computer, remove the battery and send me a clearly visible photo of the battery's sticker.

Hello @DrRubie
Try to contact HP if this battery is available in your country. It happens that original HP batteries are no longer offered. Then you should buy a replacement battery. You could ask a computer store to get a new battery for you. Shipping to your country is not always easy when you buy online, I know that:

Ebay.com ( International shipping )
You should buy the following battery:
! Attention ! there are 2 battery variants !
11.1V (=10.95V) and 14.8V(=14.6V) are the different voltages, they are not compatible
! Please choose ---> 11.1V (=10.95V) <--- Please choose !
274 x 33.9 x 21mm (L x W x H)
Voltage:11.1V (=10.95V)
Number of Cells: 3 cells

Your question: The runtimes of the batteries vary, because it depends on how the power options are set and what is being worked on the computer. If the battery is "new", i.e. starts with 0 charge cycles and is calibrated, it performs well (several hours).
Please report your results

Hello,
Thank you for your response.
I asked that question because I wanted your opinion on the answers I've received from the inquiries I've made at Computer Stores so far. They all gave the same response i.e. runtime of 2-3 hours, almost 4 hours at best and that would be on maximum battery saver setting.
My concern with that is running through the life cycle of the battery really quickly therefore having to replace as frequently as yearly or sooner.
Do you believe I can get a better option elsewhere or should I just try and make do with this till I can replace the entire device?
Thank you.

Thank you.
A better option is not possible with 3 cells. In the short term, I would accept it that way.
Later you can buy another device:
