Common problems for Battery

I bought the HP laptop less than a year ago.  It’s mostly always been plugged in to AC power so was a little surprised when restarting it a few months ago that a message popped up suggesting the laptops battery function had reduced.

I kept on using it until I got another message saying the cmos battery wasn’t working and since then I have also noticed that the “big” internal battery isn’t charging when plugged in and on AC power.  The power light just flashes white all of the time when switched on (when switched off the power led will change to orange for around a couple of seconds then go back to flashing white.  If I pull out the AC lead the computer immediately turns off without even powering down so the battery is totally dead.

I am pretty underwhelmed and disappointed as it’s under a year old (just) and now have to figure out how to get it sent in for a warranty repair before the years over.

Any help on this and how to do this would be really appreciated.

regards.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
