I use my laptop for work only and in an attempt to prolong my battery life I usually wait until my battery is low before plugging it in to charge it up. However a month ago I tried to power the laptop on using just the battery itself (knowing that it had been charged while using the previous afternoon) and could not get it to switch on, I can now only get the laptop to power on when plugged in, and if I remove the charger from the laptop it immediately shuts down. It seems like the battery isn't charging or holding any power at all and I can't figure out why this would have happened.
My battery settings are also showing a decrease in the percentage of battery available, it's dropped from 60% to 52% over the past couple of weeks.
I did an HP battery check which said the battery is ok and I ran a BIOS update but neither of these have helped. I've also tried uninstalling Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery in device manager and restarted my laptop but this didn't do anything either.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it!
