Hi, my laptop (Hp 15-ef2126wm) was having charging issues for a while where I had to shove the charger in the port for it to charge. I checked the battery health and it said it was good, so I thought it was the charging port. Then, it got so difficult to charge that I ordered a new charging port. The new charging port I ordered was as follows: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805725962571.html?spm=a2g0n.order_detail.order_detail_item.3.6bb1...
Although it looked a little different from my charging port I thought it would work, but it didn’t. I think it’s because that port just isn’t compatible with my computer, but I don’t want to order another one until I know for sure. The new port fit into the slot, but it was a little long and had a slight difference on the side of the connector (where it connects to the motherboard) that was almost unnoticeable. If it was just that the new port I got wasn’t the right one and it isn’t some other problem with the laptop, can you show me where I can get the right port at?

We all make choices. Some choices cost us wasted time, frustration and money.
I won't make a recommendation for a non genuine part.

AliExpress is not what I would call a premier source. It is a vendor source where you might end up with a counterfeit part.
Always order the HP part number and get genuine parts, not compatible ones.

Do you think this one on Amazon would work? https://www.amazon.com/Bfenown-Replacement-799749-S17-799749-Y17-799749-F17/dp/B07MFTLQGD/ref=mp_s_a...
I know it’s third party, but I trust Amazon and I was looking for one in the $10 range.

It appears that you have not looked at the list in the search that I provided. There are quite a few genuine HP parts that are less than $10.
Take another look
Just because it is at Amazon does not mean it will fit.

Sorry to keep asking questions, but I think I’m going to buy this one. Do you think this one should work, it seems a little longer than mine, but it has the same part number and the information on the green sticker looks the same.

Thank you so much, I never would have found the right part without you. If anyone else finds this and wants to see the one I purchased it’s the following: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234733467411?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=6Jd3McjAQ6W&sss...
I messaged the seller who informed me that it was a genuine part that is made for hp 15-ef2126wm. The first number on the listing is the part number 806746-001. The second number 799749-S17 is a number on the cable itself, I even checked the sticker on my original cable and it had that number. I’ll update this post whenever it comes in and confirm if it works if anyone comes across this with the same problem as me.

The cable came in, and I plugged it in. After plugging it in, I plugged the charger into it, and it didn’t light up. I tried opening the computer and pressing the power button, but it didn’t do anything. I also tried removing the battery, but it didn’t work either. Maybe it’s the charger that’s broken?

If anyone comes across this in the future, I got the laptop to work. I figured since it didn’t charge even after replacing the port that it must’ve been the charger. I knew that the charging indicator would light up even if the battery wasn’t in, so it must have been the charger. I was contemplating ordering one and praying that the charger was the real issue, but I got one from my friend to be sure. He gave me a 19.5v 65w dell charger. I knew that using a charger other than oem would be risky, but I didn’t care. I hadn’t expected it to work, but I plugged it in and it lit up. I tested it before putting the bottom back on. I pressed the power button and the fan began to spin. Then, I put it back together and turned it on. I got a message that said the cmos checksum is invalid the computer will restart. I was worried that it wouldn’t work, but then it restarted and booted up normally. My biggest piece of advice would be to check the charger first, then check the charging port. All three of my charging ports ended up working (the original one, the aliexpress one, and the oem one from eBay). If you do want to replace the charging port then BE CAREFUL WITH THE PINS! I broke both of the pins holding down the charging port and even lost one of the rubber feet of the computer. It still charges just fine, but the charging port is loose because of the missing pins. It’s nothing more than a minor inconvenience, but you should avoid it if at all possible.
