I bought my laptop recently(about 4 months). Normaly when I connect the laptop to adapter, if the pc is charging the red LED will be on the it will be blue when the battery is fully charged.
But when I was working with charger connected, suddenly the battery stopped charging. PC do not recognize the charger now. I tried to run a bios ac-adapter test but it also saying charger is not connected. I can't update BIOS because PC do not recognize the charger.
The most weird thing is that the charging LED is blue. But the battery is not charging or fully charged. Now the battery is almost finished.
Adapter works fine. (Checked with a different PC in same model)
Any help??

Remove battery and connect AC adapter to power source and see if it is powering on?
Now first, connect both battery and AC adapter to power, load to Windows:
Uninstall Microsoft ACPI compliance battery and AC adapter driver from Device Manager completely
Shut down laptop
Do a hard reset : https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01684768
Insert battery alone, disconnecting AC adapter
Then reload BIOS to default: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00034791
Save and exit. Continue to load Windows competely.
Shut down again. Plug in AC adapter.
Now restart again.
See if windows is detecting

This is a symptom of a problem with the motherboard -- either the circuitry that detects when the AC adapter is connected has failed, or the socket on the motherboard to which the AC adapter plugs-in to is damaged -- not making proper contact with the motherboard.
If the computer is still under warranty, contact HP (using the "Contact HP" hyperlnk near the bottom-left of this web-page), and get them to fix it.

Correct. When the computer is running solely on battery-power, there's a possibility of running out of "juice" during a BIOS update, resulting in "bricking" your computer. So, the BIOS updater requires AC power.
In my experience, trying to update the BIOS is *NEVER* my first trouble-shooting step.

When the PC is connected to the AC adapter the blue led turns on. So I don't think it is a problem with the socket or the AC adapter as it works fine with other computers..

Yes, it powered on. Then I turn off the PC and connect the AC adapter. Then charging led turn on instead of blue led..
Problem solved!!
anyone know a reason behind this problem..?
Anyway now laptop is charging fine..

Could you please assist me, I'm having the same problem. It works with the charger alone, but it doesn't recognize the charger when I test it using hardware diagnostic efi. It does not turn on with the battery, because the battery is now empty.
