HP Notebook 15-da1074tx
Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop is HP Notebook 15-da1074tx. Recently I upgraded my laptop with 512GB NVME SSD and 8GB RAM, so now i have 16GB RAM.(2 RAM cards are of the same frequency but different companies) After the upgradation, my device starts to freeze randomly. If an audio or video is playing there is also a buzzing sound when the freezing happens, then the entire system becomes unresponsive. Now all I can do is to Force shut down using the power button and then restart the system. Is there any possible fixes?

Hi,

Well I would think either a system problem or a problem with one of the modules you installed (either the SSD or RAM)

You reinstalled Windows? Is the notebook completly updated and are all drivers installed?

If you go into device manager (right-click on Start and click on Device Manager) are there any yellow exclamation marks?

Have you tried running Hardware diagnostics on the machine to see if any hardware failures are given.

Have you tried running with only the old RAM installed, does the same happen.

What is the SSD you installed, could be a problem with the drive.

Hope it helps,

David

Windows installation was clean, and everything is updated. No errors on the device manager and hardware diagnostics was okay. I have replaced the new RAM, and there was no freezing  for two months. My device battery needed to be replaced, and after the battery replacement freezing issue started again. My SSD is KINGSTON SA2000M8500G (NVME). Do you think the old RAM might be causing the issue ? Because sometimes I get Blue screen error along with freezing.

It is possible that the old RAM is creating the problem or the SSD. Try without the old RAM and see if the problem continues.
