I have just reinstalled the OS a few days back. But yesterday it was not opening. Just a blank screen came. So I restarted it once. The problem wasn't solved. So I restarted it once again. After that it is showing Preparing Automatic Repair and it goes on. After some time, it heats up too much and automatic shutdown occurs. What should I do ?????

Immediately after power on start tapping the Esc key. This should open a menu with F2 System Diagnostics as an option. Tap F2 to run diagnostics.

Ran the start up diagnosis. Nothing happened. Laptop heated up and shutdown automatically within 5 minutes.

Sounds like the hard drive has failed. Go back into F2 System Diagnostics and try to run the hard disk test.

It's showing
Hard Disk Smart Check :Passed
Hard Disk Short DST : Failed.
[Note that I have done the quick check]

In both the quick check and extensive check

DST:Fail =  hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If not a retail laptop SATA hard drive can be used. Just be sure to get one of at least equal capacity as the original in order to use Recovery Media to install Windows on the new hdd.. It can be larger, but not smaller capacity. For instance if you have a 500GB hdd you could use a 750GB hdd but not a 320GB hdd.
