@Akki2025, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Restart the Laptop
If you haven’t already, try restarting your laptop. Sometimes, touchpad issues can be caused by temporary glitches that a simple restart can resolve.
Check the Touchpad Settings
Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
Make sure the touchpad is enabled. If it’s already enabled, try toggling it off and on again to reset it.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers
Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can cause the touchpad to stop working.
Update Drivers:
Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
Right-click your touchpad device and select Update driver. You can choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
If updating doesn’t work, you can try uninstalling the driver (right-click > Uninstall device), then rebooting your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the touchpad driver after rebooting.
Check for Windows Updates
Make sure your system is fully updated. Windows updates often contain fixes for hardware-related issues.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click Check for updates.
Also, refer to this guide: HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshoot the touchpad | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
