HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0598na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All,

Never posted before so forgive me if I'm vague.

I was using my HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0598na, gaming and suddenly it turned off, when restarting it turned on fine.

However, now the AC adaptor is now not being recognised - no light and when attempting to do the AC adaptor test is not being recognised.

I have plugged in the AC adaptor to another HP notebook and it has worked, even though it only uses a 40w adaptor instead of the 150w adaptor that comes with the pavillion.

I have tried to the 40w in the pavillion however it again doesn't respond - don't know if this would work anyway?

I have tried to hard reset but I don't think it worked, does anyone have an idea how to do it on these laptops?

I have also reinstalled the drivers but again, no luck.

I have tried to enter my details for warranty and it states that the site is currently down...

As your all probably aware this is possibly the worst timing for my laptop to die on me, as I'm working from home! So any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

@eggzini If an alternate adapter isn't working either, this could be an issue with the power connector on the motherboard or the battery, and since you've already reinstalled the battery drivers and yet that didn't help either, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
