Yesterday I go to plug in my AC adapter/charger into my laptop, as my battery was getting low, and it wouldn't charge. If I plug it in while the monitor is open, the light is white, and there is no idication that the laptop "recongizes" it being plugged in, however, if I plug it in while it's open, and then close the loptop lid, the light will turn orange and starts charging, and I can open the lid back up, and it's charging as I type and all.

I also just discovered that if I turn the screen off (not the computer) and plug the charger in, the light will turn orange (or if if I plug it in and then turn off the monitor, it'll turn orange after a few seconds and start charging. I turn it back on and it's still charging). I don't get it. I've only had this laptop for 6 months, and I don't think there is a pin or anything broken in it? I ran a batter diagnostic, and it says the battery was found and no other issues were found when I ran a full diagnostics on the computer. I'm baffled.

I am considering getting a new charger for it, but I don't know if there is something else that I can do that is easibly fixable?

Did you also test the charger? Did you use F2 System Diagnostics to test? Immediately after powering on start tapping the Esc key. This will open a menu where F2 System Diagnostics is an option. Tap F2 key and open Component Tests>Power.

I’ve already sent it off. Was told it was probably a battery controller malfunction.
