Hi

just wondered if anyone else has had problems with HP service/repair? My laptop has a cracked screen which I contacted HP about to be repaired- was told it would have to be sent away but was easy to organise. It would be collected, assessed, a price confirmed and then the work done. Expected time period was about 2weeks beginning to end. So I contacted via WhatsApp- got given a case number, told to expect contact within 2-3 days. 8 days later I’m chasing them to be told that I should get a quote in 2-3days and to pay upfront before they will collect. No one will give me an idea of cost as I was told it could only be given on assessment so why the upfront payment. I’m being told something different every time I make contact. All the WhatsApp contact people seem utterly clueless and working off a crib sheet. Today’s told me they knew how I felt because they’d feel the same. Really? I’d only given them the case number and the time waited. Mentioned nothing about how I was feeling!!
I’m definitely feeling less than impressed now!

Has anyone had a positive experience?

and can anyone advise on what the expected cost may be for a screen repair. It’s still under warranty so I’m reluctant to use an independent repair as I imagine that will affect the warranty in the future.
thanks

I’ve had a quote from HP for a basic screen repair - £405!!!!!!! Which, frankly, I find ridiculous. I only paid £479 for it new, and it’s available to buy again at just £429. How can HP justify charging this kind of money? It’s daylight robbery and as far away from claims by the company to be moving towards greener/environmental efforts as it can go. The message I’m getting from HP is that my less than 2yo laptop is worthless and I should buy a new one.
