hi, I have a HP Notebook - 15-bs164tu and it is showing weird technical issues i.e.,
- it turns off on its own earlier @ 20% then @ 30% and today @ 40% battery level.
- it doesn't show low battery warning even after I default reset respective settings.
- the adapter gets disconnected and then connected on its own.
around 1 month ago it got discharged by my mistake thrice in three days in a row.
Someone help me out.

@huff1 That's right, it's definitely the battery or the DC connector on the system board, that said, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.

@huff1 I have a few steps that should help resolve the issue:
- Check with an alternate power cord/adapter or another wall outlet, remove any surge protectors and connect directly to the wall outlet and check if that works.
- Does the issue persists with the battery alone or even when the device is connected to the wall outlet? please verify.
- Have you had any thunderstorms lately, before this issue occurred?
- If yes, this could be a hardware malfunction that requires a repair.
- If no, try the below steps:
- The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter: CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP GUIDE.
- (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
