HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Looking for an HP Spectre x360 USB-C Adapter: 904144-850 Cord: 490371-001!  HP and their authorized resellers don't have them!  How can HP not have replacement 90 watt USB-C adapters for the HP Spectre x360?

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you want the AC Adapter for your HP Spectre notebook. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

I request you to contact HP Phone Support to order the AC Adapter for your notebook.

I own a brand new HP SPECTRE 15", and I am absolutely shocked you cannot buy the HP power adapter direct from HP. They are supposedly selling this part to what they call "retail affiliates", but to customers who want to purchase their parts direct from HP. This is VERY VERY poor customer service for those of us who purchased a Spectre laptop DIRECT from HP. I am going to write an executive complaint to HP management. This is wrong.

I purchased this adapter from Impact electronics, with information found on this forum. This part - 904144-850 is not a replacement for the 90W power adapter that comes with the 15" x360. It does not even charge my laptop at all. No light on the side. The USB-C cable that comes with it plus into the accessory USB 3.0 port on the power adapter which wasn't designed to power up a big laptop.  The whole adapter is 1/3 the size and weight of the original.

I think HP should be absolutely ashamed of this situation. I would expect this of a cheap foreign brand, not HP.

Foolth is 100% correct in making the statement

HP is telling its HP Direct customers, "buy your BEAUTIFUL new Spectre from us (HP), but go and buy your parts / accessories (power adapter) from some third party retailer, that we don't even know, WHEN IN REALITY, WE ARE HP CUSTOMERS. If HP is going to be in the laptop business, then HP SHOULD HAVE THE ACCESSORIES ON THE HP WEBSITE FOR PURCHASE BY THEIR CUSTOMERS, YES, THEIR CUSTOMERS. ITS THAT SIMPLE - but for some reason, HP does not get it. Bottom line, I think this whole mess was poor planning for the Spectre release on the part of HP. If you go to Dell's website, you can purchase an extra power adapter, right there on the Dell site, at the time of purchase. So far, my HP Spectre has been great, love it. I just wish HP would figure this accessory out for THEIR customers. A laptop is built & intended for TRAVEL and many folks would like a second power adapter for travel. I hope HP is reading these concerns, would step up and offer the adapter, and communicate with its customers.

Is there anyone out there who has been able to purchase a 90 watt usb-c power adapter for the HP Spectre x360 15" (2017)?  I still can't believe HP doesn't sell it!

Anyone have any luck getting one of these adaptors? I paid $2000 CDN for this laptop and require a spare power supply for my office so I don't have to lug this one around. I have tried HP Shopping in Canada, and also HP Parts in the US. Nobody carries it!

Unacceptable that you can't get a replacement power supply in this day and age frome the actual manufacturer of your laptop!

Dear Dr Zeus..... I was in the same situation, and i could not believe HP is producing the Spectre, many folks using their laptops for business and travel, and it was impossible to go to the HP site, and just order a spare.   What I did was told HP i was going to file an "executive complaint"..... this statement must have gotten logged in somewhere, because i was finally able to get HP to "transfer" one from OE replacement parts to their regular parts inventory for shipment to me.  I also believe HP Parts no longer has phone contact...... you have to contact them thru email as I recall.  This entire matter was a big disappointment to me.  A company the size of HP, producing and selling the Spectre's by the thousands, and it was such an unbelieveable challenge to get an extra power adapter.... this is not an off-shore second class company, HP is one of the backbones of American industry, and I cannot believe how they would place the Spectre is such high production and leave their customers wanting this part by the wayside.  Maybe try calling the company in Palo Alto, or consider writing an executive complaint.  The other thing HP will tell you to do is contact one of their "third party" suppliers, who supposedly have the part......they gave me some names and phone numbers and they did not have the part.  Come on HP..... you can do much better than this....... BTW, I love the Spectre...... but this additional  power adapter inventory was not very well thought out by the company.

Thanks for the reply Top Student! Where can I file this "executive complaint"? Also, did they end up sending you one and did you have to pay? If so, how much?
