Hello all,
I was looking to add some extra RAM to my laptop to speed it up a bit - currently I have 4gb so I was looking to add another 8gb maybe, or 12. I was wondering if someone could please point me to some RAM that would be suitable for my laptop as I've tried looking around and it seems to be a bit of a minefield. I've included some info:
Product number: 4AR98EA#ABU
Serial number:
System memory: 4GB
Memory slot 1: 4GB Samsung 1866 MHz
Thank you in advance

Its specs

It has 1 slot of RAM and supports 8GB max. You can replace 4GB with 8GB Samsung RAM or the following compatible RAM (will run at 1866MHz)

Hi, @Solitaire23
Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.
Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | hp 15-db series | HP 15-db0521sa | Crucial.com
It has one memory slot, and the max memory the slot can take is 8 GB.
So in order to upgrade the memory, you would have to remove the 4 GB memory chip and replace it with an 8 GB memory chip.
You should be able to get this part number in the UK...
Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM | CT8G4SFS824A | Crucial UK
Below is the link to the service manual...

Hi Paul,
Thanks so much for your response. I just wanted to query the maximum capacity of 8gb if you don't mind. I used the top method here to see what the maximum capacity for my laptop is earlier:
2 Steps to Check Maximum RAM Capacity of Your Computer (shareus.com)
When I've done this, it's returned 67108864kb, or converted I believe that's around 67gb. Is there a reason why I couldn't install more than 8gb in this case?
Thanks again.

You're very welcome.
Your notebook's processor can only support 8 GB of memory with one memory slot.
The slot max is 8 GB.
If you were to install a 16 GB memory chip in that slot, the chances of it working would be slim to none.
