Hi folks! I had to replace a bad hard drive in this laptop and somehow missplaced the bottom 12 case screws like an idiot...I'm usually careful on keeping screws in a safe place and marked for what and where they came from. The service manual says the screws are M2.5 x 7.0 (page 50 in print, page 58 viewed in Adobe http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03538328 ).
However, when attempting to order them on this website, a warning for HP/Compaq laptop owners says that the service manual can be wrong on screw sizes (note the yellow highlighted link "Important Notice"):
http://www.laptopscrews.com/M2.5x7.htm
"Please be advised that errors have been found in HP/Compaq manuals regarding the screw sizes. Usually the error is in the diameter of the screw. An M2.5 reported as an M2 or an M3 reported as an M2.5. If possible measure a screw before you order or order the screw in both diameters if you are in doubt. Also be aware that HP/Compaq manuals show measurements of the overall screw. For an M2.5x9 HP screw please order an M2.5x8."
Since I don't even have one of the screws to measure, can someone confirm what the actual bottom 12 case screws actually are for a Pavilion G7-1338DX?
Thanks in advance for any help!
