Hello,
Serial number: [edit]
Product number: P1F10UA#ABA
I have a laptop and it has started making very loud fan noise from past 1 month. I have updated the BIOS as advised in some if the forums but it get worst after that. before update it was making intermittent noise but after update its continous.
In past one 1 month I have installed only one applicationa named 'Popcorn Time' and no other changes. I was using this application previously as well but I had to reinstall it again because it wasn't working properly.
The laptop is outside of it's year warranty
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand the fan has an excessive noise,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you attempted to perform a hard reset on your device?
Does the device heat up as well?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
To resolve this issue, change the System Power Scheme to Balance in the BIOS.
1.Turn on or restart the computer.
2.Press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.
3.Select System Configuration.
4.Select Boot Options > System Power Scheme.
5.Change the option to Balance.
6.Select F10 to Save and Exit the BIOS.
7.Select Exit.
If the issue persists, refer to this article: https://hp.care/2fVoxVy (To resolve issues with the loud fan noise)
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
if the power scheme isn't a part of the BIOS,
you could try updating the BIOS from the HP Website: https://hp.care/2B3MVQS
If the issue persists, I recommend you go through the article I shared earlier and please contact HP to repair the device if nothing works:

I also have the same problem with my laptop (HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba026ng), encountered the same problem with the BIOS I have (no power scheme) and I've tried to update the BiOS (F.42 Rev.A) but it says it is not compatible with my laptop. How else can I have the noise problem fixed.

Hi,
I was able to update the BIOS but the fan noise problem is still there. I just purchased this laptop a week ago so in theory I shouldn't be having this type of problem that will be resolved by solutions provided in the link e.g. shutting internet, keeping notebook airvent clean etc.
the other solution of changing the settings in BIOS is also not gonna work because system power scheme cannot be found under boot options.
what can resolve this problem?
