New purchase in February 2021 which is recently or only 3-4 months usage but now the laptop fan is cracking like an air conditioner exhaust, any suggestions on how to fix it?

HP support can't help much, only asking for HP cloud reset and yet it's still not solved so i can conclude that their support is completely unreliable and the service center is still closed due to covid, and processing time can take for 14 working days, which is very slow.

the HP support says i can open the case if i want to fix it myself, but if the spare parts are damaged, the warranty will be void. but what I'm confused about, how do they know if the laptop was opened? if there is no sticker seal on the laptop case?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP notebook fan is not working correctly. However, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Shut down the computer, and then inspect and clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Dust can accumulate inside the vent openings and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.

For more information on the fan: HP Notebook PCs - Fan Is Noisy and Spins Constantly

  • Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again, even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service.

For more information on performing a hard reset, see Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.

  • In some cases, updating the BIOS might help prevent the noisy operation from occurring. For more information on how to update the BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Nope, just happening suddenly when I was working

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

Nope, its default.

the exterior has been cleaned regularly.

this already done, see my reference : HP support can't help much, only asking for HP cloud reset and yet it's still not solved

My bios are already updated, since this laptop is brand new, and it is already broken, such bad product I ever used.

Your solution is not helping, it is similar to other HP Support agents. the answer is mostly template based.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the fan and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

yep that is correct, finally nice answer mr.echo lake. this is clearly hardware fault and due to covid situation, right now HP Service center only focus on business or companies so end user like me are not given chance to service, minus point for HP for ignoring end user customer and only serving companies.

Their answer are clearly unprofessional and looks unfamiliar with their support, wasting entire day just for nothing, making everything reset to default as like they are giving this answer to every customer so make sure they understand the issue before asking for cloud reset.

i have sent the message few days ago but as expected, HP support is slow and unresponsive

I also have compared to another brand such as lenovo or asus, they replied in only just few minutes.

That is how far the difference on the quality of your service.
