Hi,

I bought a crucial p2 NVME ssd after seeing that the crucial system scanner showed support for it for my laptop.

The laptop had a position for soldering an m.2 nvme connector so I ordered the connector online and soldered it.

After connecting the M.2 drive, it is not detected in bios or windows. Some people eg here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/M-2-Nvme-ssd-is-not-detected-i...

say foe the emmc hp model (which I  have too), it's locked and can't be opened but j belive there is a setting which should unlock it.

I have seen on an hp site that the advanced bios key contains an option to enable and disable m.2 slots and also choose what controller sata or others are active, etc  Sadly the advanced option is hidden and I couldn't use the various tricks some people reported which opened up the Advanced bios menu for them.

Any ideas how to do open and unlock the Advanced Bios option? It should be a combination of keys (eg crtl + f1, Fn+Tab, etc. after booting and pressing F9/F10,etc.).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Nooman

The specs of your machine is

            https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c06401869

It ONLY has AMD A4-9125 Dual-Core (2.3 GHz base frequency, up to 2.6 GHz burst frequency, 1 MB cache) processor and 64 GB of eMMC storage therefore the M.2 slot is not available. I don't know how Crucial gave you that.

Regards.

Hi Banhien,

Thank you for your reply. Actually yes the specs do say that, but the crucial system scanner (which I guess reads the bios) says ram is upgradeable and m.2 nvme ssd can be installed.

The manual for the dkxxxx series also says it has m.2 nvme options (if someone wants to upgrade). On opening the laptop, it does have m.2 spot. Some people have reported similar 64 gb emmc models in which they successfully upgraded to m.2 sata but m.2 nvme didn't work.

Any ideas ? Perhaps unlocking the Advanced options in bios? Thanks so much for your time.
