Envy 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I already checked the produc service maual and see that M.2 PCIe SSD is supported on Envy 15, Product Code W0Q62AV.

When I placed this M.2 PCIe SSD, Windows 10 does not recognize it under Disk Management, Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Intel Rapid Storage Technology shows the slot empty.

Are there any settings that I need to adjust?

Would someone please look into this and let me know?

Thank you.

Good to hear that you got it resolved but so strange that it didn't show up in Disk Management to begin with.

Which SSD did you install?

Hello,

Thank you for looking into this.

I installeda Crucial P1 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD.

HP Envy service manual says that M.2, PCIe, NVMe is supported, so I picked this one.

I don't see anything to change about the NVMe on the BIOS or UEFI.

Once again, I appreciate any suggestions that I can follow.

Thank you.

Yea you're right it should work fine. Does it show up in bios at all?

Thank you again for looking into this.

No it does not show up in BIOS or UEFI at all.

I re-seated this M.2 PCIe SSD a few times, but it does not show up.

I am going to try if the Windows Media Creation Tool can copy the installation files on it this weekend and find out.

I just want to give an update; I did a clean install Windows 10.

First I created a Windows Media Creator Tool on a USB flash drive, then booted to this USB flash drive.

Then, I just followed the on-screen instructions.

Now, I have a 1TB NVMe (Crucial) SSD PCIe for Windows OS and a 1TB HDD (WD) SATA for storage.

I also realized that NVMe PCIe SSD does not show up on Intel Rapid Storage Technology; IRST is for SATA-based disks.

Now, my Envy is super fast!!
