Hi,

I just bought a M.2 Sata SSD. I would get it shortly.
It's an ADATA PREMIER PRO 256 Gb.

I will keep you informed if it works or not.

Hello,

I received the SSD and I installed on my computer. It's functional !

Verify if your PC has a M.2 PCI or M.2 SATA !

Yumium, what model laptop do you have?

Hi,

It's an HP Pavilion 15-ak106nf.

Did anybody tried to initialize the ssd as GPT?

Maybe it is not recognised becouse it is set to MBR.

I've read that someone solved just by initializing the ssd in disk management (win 10).

Please stop this madness...the m.2 slop on many hp laptops are factory diabled by hp...so stop screwing with it...the only way you are going to install an ssd is by removing the 2.5 HDD with a 2.5 SSD

me too was searching for m.2 ssd upgrade to my laptop...but after going through so many topics and discussions i found out this disabled m.2 slot stuff...just thought of sharing it...sorry if i showed my frustration in here...

No, problem. I understand your frustration. I, fortunately, own a model of an Envy 17t (an n000) that does NOT have the m.2 slot disabled. I installed a 512GB m.2 SSD in it, and never had a problem with it being recognized or otherwise not working. In fact, I use it as my Windows boot drive. If it didn't work, I would've been EXTREMELY upset with HP (I still can't figure out why they disabled that slot on certain models of their laptops - it's just beyond me).

Sorry if my previous response to your post was a bit "curt".

Its ok.Life is not fair.Everyone does not get everything equally.Hp decided to disble to m.2 slot on certain models of their laptop.Mine happened to be 15 inch one.The inbuilt HDD is painfully slow in hp laptops.Since i need plenty of storage for files also i cant ditch the 1 TB hdd just like that.So my only option was to add an m.2 ssd which i found to be impossible.Bought this laptop within a year only(4th hp laptop in total since 2003).So cant get a new one anytime soon.Seems like i have to live with it.
