HP 15q-ds0010TU Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have this HP model 15q-ds0010TU Laptop.

FYI:

https://www.flipkart.com/hp-15q-core-i5-8th-gen-8-gb-1-tb-hdd-windows-10-home-15q-ds0010tu-laptop/p/...

It already has M.2 Slot for SSD Upgrade.

I have some questions:

1- Does it has maximum support of 256 GB SSD only? OR can I insert 512 GB SSD too?

2- Can I remove the CD Drive and I can use 500GB SSD in a harddrive Case there?( I already have another 2 laptops modified like this and works well)

3- Can you suggest some options for the 8GB RAM DDR4 2400 MHz ?

Thanks

Its specs

        https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06117625

A1. Can be huge but due to physical limit (2280 single sided) you can use 2TB, some vendors sell 4TB.

A2. Yes, it does have room for 2.5" HDD/SSD

A3. RAM: It has 8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now, you can add SAME existing RAM to slot 2. You can also upgrade to 32GB using

But when I called to technical support of HP they said that in the M.2 slot I can insert maximum of 256GB SSD only because it support till 256 GB SSD only in the given M.2 slot. Is it not true?

When I asked this same to HP Technical support team they said this laptop support only till 16GB of maximum RAM which can be 8GB in each one slot. Is it not true?

Please advise. Thanks!

Ok

So just to update you now

I upgraded the same HP 15q-ds0010TU Laptop now with extra:

1- Crucial 8GB RAM DDR4 2400 Mhz

2- Western Digital Blue 480 GB SSD in an existing M.2 Slot

It all worked well and also compatible there.
