HP Notebook - 15-bs062st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

While reading maintenance and service guide for my laptop, 15-bs062st, there was mention of an M.2 SATA-3 on page 11. Where exactly would this M.2 SATA slot be, if my specific laptop has one and what is maximum size of M.2 SATA SSD is supportable?

 

My laptop's specifications is as follows: 

 

Laptop: HP Notebook - 15-bs062st Laptop PC

Product number: 1WJ89UA#ABA

[personal information removed]

System board: 832A 23.78

System BIOS: F.65

Microprocessor: Intel Core i3-7100U

System Memory: 16 GB Crucial 859B 2133MHz (8 GB slots 1 and 2)

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 620

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version: 19044.1466

Hi:

 

Your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports SATA M.2 SSD's, not NVMe.

 

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types.

The M.2 slot is located in a couple of different places on that model series, so you will have to open it up and see where it is located on yours.

 

For instance, on this model, it is located as shown in the screenshot.

 

Solved: I am confused which ssd support - HP Support Community - 8179671

 

You can probably go as high as a 2 TB M.2 SATA SSD if you want.
